Mechanical puzzle

Mechanical puzzles are clever objects made of connected pieces that you manipulate to solve a challenge. People have been enjoying these brainy puzzles for a super long time, even dating back to ancient Greece over 2,000 years ago! A really famous modern example you might know is the Rubik's Cube, which was invented in 1974. These puzzles are usually designed for one person to figure out how they work, not just to guess the answer. They're often used to test how smart someone is or to help practice problem-solving skills. Over time, different types of puzzles became popular. For instance, the Tangram, a Chinese puzzle where you arrange flat shapes, spread across the world in the early 1800s. Later, books like "Puzzles; Old and New" by Professor Hoffman helped share many clever puzzle ideas, including ones with secret opening parts. The invention of modern plastics made it easier and cheaper to create a huge variety of puzzles for everyone to enjoy. Puzzles come in several fun categories. Some are "assembly puzzles" where you put pieces together to make a specific shape, like fitting blocks into a box. Others are "disassembly puzzles," challenging you to take them apart, often involving hidden tricks or secret mechanisms, such as special Japanese puzzle boxes. "Interlocking puzzles" are tricky because their pieces hold each other tightly, and you have to carefully figure out how to take them apart and put them back together. Finally, "disentanglement puzzles" ask you to free a loop from a tangled object, which can be surprisingly hard and really test your patience!
