Normal distribution

The normal distribution is a common idea in math. It helps us understand data in many areas. This pattern often looks like a bell curve. Many natural events follow this shape. For example, people's heights or test scores can fit it. We use it to predict how likely things are. One important tool is the normal function. It helps calculate the chance of an event. This function finds the area under the bell curve. That area tells us the probability. Example: If the average height is 175 cm and the standard deviation is 7 cm: - 68% of people are between 168–182 cm (±1 standard deviation) - 95% are between 161–189 cm (±2 standard deviations) - 99.7% are between 154–196 cm (±3 standard deviations)
